What stays manual

  • The boundary decision, and defending it
  • Which Scope 3 categories (the emissions in your value chain, outside your own operations) are material
  • Sign-off. The model is never the sign-off.

What the AI does

  • Profiles the messy workbook and lists what's missing
  • Maps a 4,000-line ledger to scope and category, with a confidence flag
  • Runs the arithmetic in executed code, citing a factor row per line

  • Recompute three sampled lines by hand

What you'll build

Three frameworks. One running case.

Everything runs on one fictional company, Meridian Textiles. The number you calculate in Week 2 is the one you disclose in Week 4 and evidence in Week 6.

Boundaries, Scope 1, 2 and 3, data quality, the inventory report. Ends with a timed hand-built Scope 1–2 inventory — your benchmark for Week 2.

Your GHG inventory, with Claude

Rebuild the same inventory with grounded projects, executed calculation and enforced source citation. Catch the invented factor. Present and defend it.
Week 3 · Teaching

Preparing sustainability reporting using GRI

Materiality, the Universal and Topic Standards, omissions, the content index. In accordance vs with reference, and when each is right.
Week 4 · Lab · Assessed

Your sustainability report using GRI Standards, with Claude

Draft, red-team, iterate. Learn where the model writes fluent, unevidenced prose — and how to make it cite the data room or say nothing.
Week 5 · Teaching

EcoVadis

Methodology, scoring and the 2026 changes. What evidence gets rejected and why. Diagnosing gaps as policy, action, result or documentation failures.

How a week runs

Two three-hour live sessions — Thursday and Sunday evenings, India Standard Time (IST) — a small take-home between them, written feedback on every assessed build. About eight hours a week including the reading.

What you'll be able to do by the end

Six outcomes: GHG, GRI, EcoVadis, the rebuild, catching AI errors, one dataset
  • Build a Scope 1, 2 and 3 inventory for a multi-site company from raw utility bills and a purchase ledger. It comes with a factor library, an assumptions log and a calculation trail an assurer can follow line by line.
  • Run a GRI materiality assessment. Write GRI 3-3 and topic disclosures for emissions, water and health & safety. Produce a content index that passes review, choosing correctly between in accordance with and with reference to.
  • Prepare an EcoVadis submission. Map a 40-document evidence pile to the activated criteria, predict which documents will be rejected and why, and build a costed, sequenced roadmap.
  • Rebuild all three workflows with agents you wrote the rules for: standards loaded, calculation in executed code, a citation on every line. Time it against your own manual benchmark.
  • Catch the four ways AI-assisted reporting goes wrong: an invented emission factor, arithmetic done in prose, a plausible mis-mapped ledger line, a confidently filled data gap. Use a verification protocol you can hand to a colleague.
  • Answer India's Business Responsibility and Sustainability Report (BRSR), the ISSB climate standard (IFRS S2), a customer questionnaire and an EcoVadis assessment from one governed dataset. Leave with reusable skills and agents, and a written standard operating procedure (SOP) for next year.

Questions

How do you choose?

Both mentors read every application. We are looking for one thing: that you do this reporting work now and have a deadline the six weeks can serve. It is calibration, not gatekeeping — there is no test, and "I have not done this before" about the AI half is a perfectly good answer. You hear either way within five working days.

How much time does it really take?

Two three-hour live sessions a week plus roughly two hours between them. Six weeks. Missing a teaching week is recoverable from the recording; missing its lab week is not.

What if I can't attend a Sunday?

The three Sunday labs in Weeks 2, 4 and 6 are assessed, not recorded, and cannot be made up. If you can't commit to them, say so in your application and we'll point you at Cohort 2 — better that than a seat you can't use.

What do I need to know already?

Working knowledge of Excel and familiarity with corporate sustainability terminology. No coding. No prior AI experience — the setup clinic before Week 2 gets everyone's account and workspace working.

What tools do I need?

A laptop, Google Meet, Excel or Sheets, and a paid Claude account from Week 2 onward (about ₹2,000/month). We tell you exactly which plan before the setup clinic.

Can I use my own company's data?

Yes, and we'd rather you did — redacted is fine. If confidentiality rules that out entirely, you work on the Meridian case for every exercise. We agree this at offer stage so nothing surprises you in Week 2.

What does it cost?

$900 — fees are set by region, so the figure shown is the one that applies to you. Cohort 2 will be priced separately. You pay only after you are offered a place, against an invoice your employer can reimburse. Fees are non-refundable; see terms.

What is the refund policy?

Fees are non-refundable — seats are limited and held for you from the moment you pay. If you can't attend, you can ask once to defer to the next cohort at no charge before Week 2 begins. Exceptional circumstances are reviewed on request at hello@climatefluent.com. Full terms: Terms & refunds.

Do you offer scholarships?

Yes — a small number of need-based places. The full fee is $900. Tick the box in the application and tell us what percentage you would need and what you could comfortably pay. We read those alongside everything else and come back to you.
